There's something about this property that is truly heart-warming. It's inviting, but it's private. It's cosy, but it's big. There's just this feel about the place that makes you want to be here. I don't think there's a single word for it in English. The Dutch apparently have a word for it, "gezellig". That sounds like Dutch to me, but let's go with it. Gezellig. The place is chokkers with whatever that is. THE PROPERTYWe're on 2832 sqm of land in a prime location, on a no-through road, at the edge of the Serpentine National Park, alongside the Munda Biddi Trail. The block is about 100 metres from front to back, and we have so much to enjoy about what's been created here. It's a high quality finish and the craftsmanship is superb. THE HOMEThis is some kind of special. Built in 2013, the home was designed by a family who were all about that gezellig and made togetherness the priority of how it all functions. Check out the floor plan and see it for yourself. The flow of the living space is simply perfect. Wherever there's a window, you're looking at the garden. I'm telling you that because it saves me going on about it every time I mention a different part of the home. All the living areas have an amazing outlook. The kitchen overlooks the main living area and there's seriously huge space to work with in here. The top-of-the-range ILVE oven is a highlight of what's on offer in this workspace, and you've got great storage overhead, in the pantry and under bench. The meals area is huge, and big gatherings are beautifully catered for. It leads through to the family room, and you can have people all over the place and still feel like there's room to move. And then when there's no one there, it's still cozy. The spaces are large but still incredibly homely. It must be that gezellig again.I'm kind of explaining the floor plan that you can just look at, but I like it, so I like telling you about it. The lounge room at the front of the home has an electric fireplace, and it's got a peaceful and relaxing ambience as you close the doors for someplace quiet to read. It's one of the most relaxing, peaceful locations I've found anywhere, and I reckon if I were any more relaxed, I'd become a liquid, but anyway, come and get more relaxed and peaceful! The games room is at the back of the home. It makes a great theatre if you need one, and there's plenty of room to separate it from the rest of the home and have all the media action happen away from your main living space. The master bedroom is at the front of the home and has ample space for larger furniture styles. There's a large ensuite bathroom and a walk-in closet. The secondary rooms are at the other end of the home, and they're all an excellent size. If you've got little kids or adults who are still hanging around for the gezellig, they're all going to be pretty stoked about the space they've got here. The main bathroom has a separate shower and bath and it's well designed. The laundry is massive and you'll be so impressed with it you might even dirty and crinkle things up just so you can go wash and iron in there. OUTSIDE This is as special as it looks in the photos. In fact, even specialler. They don't capture the smell, the freshness of the air, or the sounds. I'm not going to mention every part of it, but if you've read this far, you just need to come and be here. I'll leave you alone to explore it. There's something remarkable about what has been planted and designed here. The gardens are reticulated from a bore and there's an abundance of colour, fruit, flowers and life in this place. The pretty garden tour leads through to the working part of the yard with the veggie garden, the chook shed and of course, the workshop. The coloured map on the plan shows how it's all set up, but you've got 72sqm of workshop and 20sqm of lean-to for parking a van or other gear.
