Last Listing description (January 2021)

If you think you've entered a gallery of modern art and design at Sunshine Beach, you could be right.

Massive cedar doors seemingly vanish to reveal a grand atrium with sensational artworks, a 7-metre high solar reflective glass panelled ceiling, vast travertine floors and an introspective eye to the pool and green backdrop in the distance.

Every flawless showstopper also comes with everything that opens and shuts and here you can almost reach for the stars - 6-stars in fact, with a fully automated industrial-designed sectional wall. It disappears concertina-style into oblivion and allows a seamless focus of the pool with its surrounding deck, undercover terrace and on the north-eastern side, a casual indoor living space. Adjoining is a kitchen with island bench, tactile stone tops, wine fridge, pantry and bar.

A kid's domain has been specially designed with custom-made double bunk beds. There's also a courtyard.

In the south wing are two huge master-style suites with walk-in robes, ensuite bathroom and day beds.

The play of scale yet intimacy through varied ceiling heights, size of rooms and volumes adding spatial interest continues upstairs in the U-shaped space around the void, while the materials palette, such as honey-hued blackbutt floors and banks of louvres, is kept simple, consistent and totally chic.
Pared back, and with mature detailing, it's robust and timeless throughout with perfect spaces to suit the mood or the occasion whilst where appropriate, never losing sight of the ocean views or capturing salty breezes.

In the north wing it's all about open plan living, dining also loving the outdoors with an alfresco space overlooking the pool. The kitchen has all the high-end bells and whistles needed for entertaining. If alternate living spaces are required, check out another two in the south wing, where there's also an over-generous master suite and walk-in robe. An additional master suite is on the western side.

Designed by Stephen Kidd, The Beach House as it was apply called is attuned to the subtle, emotional impact of a space and courts appealing contrasts between textures with raw and luxe finishes mixed throughout. It remains one of Kidd's favourite designs.

"Enjoy the anonymity of the location just minutes away from white-sand Sunshine Beach," comments Tom Offermann Real Estate agent Rebekah Offermann who's taking the property to auction on Saturday 8 February 2020. "Also worth considering is the totally amenable sub-tropical climate and the nearby vibrant Sunshine Beach village with its award-winning eateries, where the local cafe society preserve the 'barefoot if you like' attitude. Respect for personal privacy is integral to the local way of life."
