Zero is derived from the term Beyond Zero which is not a specific building name, but rather a concept or a goal in sustainability and environmental responsibility.
In the context of building design and construction, Zero refers to a focus on reducing the environmental impact of the building, beyond the standard energy and resource efficiency measures, to achieve a net-zero or even negative impact to the environment.
We hope to achieve this through a variety of sustainable design strategies, such as incorporating renewable energy systems, reducing water usage, improving indoor air quality, and using sustainable materials and construction practices.
The Beyond Zero approach seeks to create a buildings that not only use resources efficiently but also generate or store more energy than it consume while producing a net-positive impact on the environment.
