The tavern has a main front bar area that lies parallel with the highway and a bar throughway that leads to two opposing restaurant areas. The tavern grounds have extensive paved areas including a beer garden, courtyard and pathways. There are also significant landscaped areas, reticulated gardens, trees and lawn.

Artists who have played at the tavern include Jimmy Barnes, The Screaming Jets, Billy Thorpe, James Reyne, Joe Camalleri, Diesel, Vanessa Amorosi, Shannon Noll, Rick Price, Lee Kernaghan, James Blundell, Eric Wiederman from 1927, Lash, Ian Moss and other smaller acts. Our biggest audience was a Jimmy Barnes concert attracting over 5000 people.
The Doodli has been a finalist in several categories of the Australian Hotels Association Awards and won the AHA Best Redeveloped Hotel Award. Doodlakine is a very small town in the Central Wheatbelt approximately two hours from Perth. It services a surrounding population of around 15,000 people (Statistics by regional shire Merredin). The main arterial route between the East Coast of Australia and Perth, Great Eastern Highway carries approximately 2,000 vehicles past the front door each day.
