It's about 8:45am on another silent Sunday morning down by the river. Underneath shady olive trees, tiny white butterflies romance with the flowering lavender as you open a fresh bottle of white. Tomorrow you will be up early, walking with your friends who live opposite, in 'The Moorings' complex. Along the river, up the side of the limestone cliffs and back again, to the little river house.
It's funny the way things turn out; you went looking for a home, but instead you found an escape. A soul soothing sanctuary, secluded from the trucks and the pollution you've faced every day of your life. You think back at how you had almost bought that apartment in the centre of Fremantle, right on the cafe strip, the motor bikes, and the cars grinding the streets beneath you. It's still close, and yet a world away from you, down at the little river house.
