MINING REVITALISING TOWN!
Morawa is a wheat belt town located four and a half hours drive north of Perth and about two hours drive to the coast at Dongna or two and a half hours drive to the major regional centre and port of Geraldton.
The surrounding area supports sheep and wheat farming.

Morawa was settled about 1905 and declared a town in 1912. The first iron ore exported from Western Australia was mined at Morawa. The mine closed in the 1960's and was reopened in 2004. At present the mine is sending tailings to China. It is expected renewed heavy mining will commence in 2008.
Morawa has a hotel/ motel, a caravan park and two farmstays, a pub, museum and a small shopping centre and primary and high schools from years one to 12. There is an agricultural college as well. A new multipurpose hospital with acute care and aged care facilities is being built at present.
During the months of August to October there is an abundance of beautiful wildflowers throughout the region.
Recreational facilities include aerial gliding, speedway, football and Olympic sized swimming centre.
The house for sale is a fibro and iron three bedroom, one bathroom home in average condition. It is built on a 992 square metre block and its history has been a rental property. The current tenant pays $110 per week and is on a lease to May 2008. She has indicated she would like to extend her residency if another investor buys the home.
With the reopening of the mine in the area there has been a new lease of life in Morawa in recent months and an increasing demand for rental accommodation will occur with the return to heavy mining.
