THE INCOME POTENTIAL
The owners planted an Olive Grove of approx 1500 trees, nearly 14 years ago. Four varieties of olive tree have been planted and the grove is fully reticulated with a quality pump system. The property has an excellent water supply, with a bore and two small dams (one is spring fed)- small flock grazing will be well catered for.
The grove was professionally planned. All trees can be machine harvested and pruned. All the hard work has been done by the owners, the trees are mature and producing good quantity and good quality olives. While the owners have never operated the grove as a commercial enterprise, they have submitted their oil to the Royal Show and won an award.
Here are some figures they have gathered over the years;
A small section of the grove was harvested a few years ago and yielded 18% oil. 13-15% is recognised as being reasonable.
They have harvested between 70 - 100kgs of olives per tree. 30-40kgs per tree is recognised as reasonable.
It takes approx. 4 days for a machine to harvest the olives.
(**the figures quoted above are only a guide and have been provided by the sellers in good faith. We recommend that buyers do their own research any not rely solely on these figures.)
