Last Listing description (September 2023)

Set on White Hill Road atop Red Hill are the unspoiled acres of Aranda, a 53.6 acre property being offered to the market for the first time in 67 years.

Located in one of the most sought after postcodes in Australia, Aranda provides a once-off opportunity to own a private and tranquil part of this Mornington Peninsula eden.

The property is fenced and comprises a modest 1960s house, as well as shedding from the dairy farm owners who operated on the property in the past.

The views are among the best available in the area, however the true beauty and serenity of this property can really only be relayed by the owners who grew up on the property. The same family has owned the property for nearly seven decades, who have very kindly allowed their combined memories of Aranda to be condensed into a brief memoir (see below).

This property has a life affirming force and a spirit-enhancing quality that only being in such a breathtaking and naturally beautiful setting provides.

In addition, the property benefits from a second entrance by right of way from Harrisons Road.

Memories of Aranda -
Aranda will always remain special to me. It was where I grew up, where I spent time with
our beloved animals, and the place I would always come home to during my university years, and when I returned from living overseas for many years.
It was the place where my father and I would hunt out a Christmas tree on the property every Christmas from when I was very young.
Where family and friends would gather, where grandchildren and great children would come and stay and enjoy nature and hanging out
with their animal friends, and where long walks would be enjoyed.
We were so fortunate to have all that wonderful space to ourselves.

My parents, Ted and Geraldine Larsen, bought our property, Aranda, in Red Hill in the 1950s, purchasing an original allotment of one hundred and twenty-two acres.
The road Aranda is on has been known as Flinders Rd, Mornington Flinders Rd, and eventually White Hill Rd.

The property is incredible. It's unique for many reasons. Probably the first thing that captivates people is the view.
What can you see from the property? Well, maybe the question is what
can't you see? The view is spectacular and takes in Arthurs Seat, the You Yangs, Mt Macedon, Mt Martha, Mt Eliza, the Dandenongs, and Donna Buang. Some days you can even see the Police
Academy sitting high in Glen Waverley and, when the sun is in the right position, it reflects off of the high rises in Box Hill.
Of course, Bald Hill sits right on our border and if you're standing at the top of it you'll see the city.
My parents had great generosity of spirit and in 1984 gifted 50 acres to the Department of Conservation. This unique local landmark has been preserved as Bald Hill Nature Conservation Reserve.
Bald Hill Creek runs through the property. When I was young, people would sometimes come by and ask if they could do a little gold panning in the creek. There was also talk about Bald Hill having the right topography to contain diamonds--who knows!
My parents purchased this land from Ken and Mary Broadhurst. Mary was a relative of the Seabrook family, her brother Doug along with a member of the Seppelt family planted the first vineyards on the Mornington Peninsula in 1948.
Like all good things in life, change is guaranteed and it's time to embrace
change and to leave our beloved Aranda in the hands of someone who can make it even more special. Someone who will go on and make their unforgettable memories at this truly special property.
