A BLUESTONE FARMHOUSE OF VICTORIAN GEORGIAN EXHIBITS THE EARLY 19TH CENTURY VERNACULAR RURAL BUILDING TRADITIONS THROUGH ITS FORM AND MATERIAL AND ''IS ONE OF A RELATIVELY SMALL GROUP OF PRE 1851 STRUCTURES SURVIVING IN VICTORIA''.
JAMES BLAIR WAS APPOINTED PORTLAND'S FIRST POLICE MAGISTRATE ON 18TH AUGUST 1840 AND ARRIVED IN PORTLAND IN OCTOBER 1840, SIX YEARS AFTER EDWARD HENTY HAD SETTLED IN PORTLAND. AFTER JAMES BLAIR'S DEATH IN 1880, BLAIR MONA WAS LATER SOLD TO THE EDGAR FAMILY AND REMAINED IN THE FAMILY FOR OVER 140 YEARS UNTIL SOLD IN 1986. IN JANUARY 2000 THE CURRENT OWNER PURCHASED BLAIR MONA AND BEING THE 4TH OWNER DECIDED TO RESTORE THE PROPERTY TO FORMER GLORY.
