John Ritchie (presumably of Blackwood, Penshurst and David Ritchie), purchased the business and freehold in the late 1880s and involved various partners. Ellen Madigan (wife of Tim Madigan) purchased the business and freehold in 1904 and ran it as a General Store known as Madigans until the mid 1980s. The stock & station agency of OBriens rented an office from 1907, and also on site is the former Malcolms Produce Store known more recently as Cooks, which is the last remaining of a row of shops strategically located between two significant Bluestone buildings; Madigans Store & the old Shire Office.
Madigans was purchased by the current owners in 1986 and has been faithfully restored to its former glory to its current status. A well known Antique business and Tea Rooms was carried on by the current owners from 1987 until 2011. It is now a gracious family home.
