The Old Goal - Huge Price Reduction
Lingalonga, the old Hamilton Gaol.
Built in 1873 of bluestone, used as Hamilton's gaol for over 60 years. In 1937 it was converted into a house with extra windows cut into the stone, fireplaces added and a stairway built to access the large area upstairs and convert it into 2 large bedrooms. Stained glass was inserted into the original cell windows and the huge front door but the iron bars were sawn off! It can still be seen where they were.

The back shed, thought to be stables is also made of bluestone and now incorporates an outside toilet, wood storage and workshed, made lockable with a roller door.
The house now comprises 4 bedrooms, 3 living areas, a large modern kitchen, 2 bathrooms, separate laundry, library and storage area. The dining room has an open fire, the Lounge room has gas heating and the sunroom incorporates a billiard table with passive heating from the sun to add to the large wood heater
The block is very large - 1300m sq and has a concreted area for ball games and a garden shed. The children can have privacy upstairs. The downstairs rooms are large and cool in summer, retaining the heat in winter due to the bluestone and double glazing. The home is in a quiet area but is easy and safe walking distance to town for restaurants, shopping and, for the young at heart - the nightclubs!
Additional feature/s - Property Type: House.
