The Zoo has grown substantially and continues to grow year on year due to the increasing reinvestment to the Zoo with acquisition and additions of spectacular animals such as the Giraffes,Cheetahs, Bisons and the Rhinoceros.
The Zoo holds over 160 species of animals, taken from Australian wildlife, to exotic birdlife, and large signficant animals from all parts of the world. Significantly, there is a number of Endangered Species Breeding Programs that the Zoo operate directly, and or support and contribute to the broader zoo programs within Australia.
The Zoo also earned the Recognition and was acknowledged in 2011 being the recipients of Outstanding Contribution to Tourism and Outstanding Product or Service in the Powercor Business Achievements Awards. This was followed up with success in the state wide competition Victorian 2014 RACV Awards with being runner up Tourist Attraction.
