Nestled in the heart of Forrest (a hop, skip and a jump from the brewery and general store) this cedar cottage is like a Pinterest dream, styled and set out with everything you need for a relaxing getaway property or a place to permanently call home! The Wrens Nest has successfully been running as a thriving holiday rental (for approximately 4 years), it sits up there with the Stream Train as the two most popular accommodation options in Forrest.
You really need to visit the cottage to feel its true tranquillity - sitting on the back deck when the sun goes down, looking over the beautiful bush landscape is something you really need to experience for yourself, however Ill do my best to set the scene! (we also have over 100 wonderful reviews on Airbnb, FYI )
When entering the cottage, you will find yourself in the open lounge room with a beautiful wood fire to keep you cosy in the winter months. The two bedrooms are located off the lounge room, both have built in wardrobes and the master has dual access to the main bathroom. Down a short hallway, the dual access bathroom offers a great size spa bath, separate shower, and the room creates that lovely relaxing feel, a place to unwind. The back part of the property was added approximately 25 years ago, it boasts high timber ceilings with French doors which open out onto a spacious deck. The kitchen and dining area are generous in size and is a great space to hang out, entertain and enjoy the beautiful bush views. You may also get the odd koala or kangaroo come by! The surrounding gardens of this home are 1010sqm, with a generous shed, carport and some fruit trees.
Spoilt with an array of charming features, youll find yourself struggling to leave this cosy gem!

Just a 40 minute drive inland from Lorne, this spacious home in the centre of Forrest was our base for some awesome adventures around the Otway Ranges and Great Ocean Road. We walked Stevensons Falls, rafted Lake Elizabeth and witnessed kangaroos grazing at sunset, before retiring by the fire at the super-cosy Wrens Nest Cottage. We cruised home stopping for a vino at Blakes Estate Winery, a paddle in Lorne and a stroll with Ted along Anglesea beach. The perfect winter escape.
The Wrens Nest Cosy Cottage lived up to its name - being a homely (but spacious and modern) cottage where you'll feel instantly at ease. It's right in the heart of Forrest and has been styled perfectly with every detail considered to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. The home has so much to offer with a fireplace ready to go, a BBQ on the deck to fry up a feast and a spa bath to sink into after a day adventuring. It's pretty easy to get those cosy home-away-from-home vibes at The Wrens Nest.
Forrest is only a 35 minute drive to Colac and 41 minutes to the coast and has become the number one destination for mountain bike riders.
