With manager???s accommodation featuring two homes with one 3 bedroom home with Open plan kitchen and dining room and lounge and master bedroom with ensuite with wood heating and reverse cycle a/c. The second home is a 4 bedroom home with open plan kitchen and living area.
???Camp Cooriemungle??? was opened in 1938 as the Cooriemungle Prison Farm and helped the forest commission to clear the bush in the Heytesbury area. Accommodation was provided for 60 prisoners who were generally serving out the last term of their sentences. Most of the original buildings are still in place and have been restored. The Prisoners Mess is now the Dining Room. The Officers Mess is now the lounge room and officers Quarters have now become the bunker rooms for the campers. A large semi-circle of huts, the prisoner cells face the central viewing point. Cooriemungle now provides an excellent blend of history and camp facilities. Of the 60 original cells 26 still remain which create the atmosphere of the camp as well as being a most valuable historical asset.
