Pagewood Park was not only one of the first it is also one of the best cluster title developments for medium density housing in Victoria. The name Pagewood Park commemorates the Le Page family, who previously owned the land on which the estate is built. The Le Pages have lived in Cheltenham since 1854. In the 1970s they sold 6.6 hectares of land to Mr. B. M. Terry who developed an estate comprising 139 houses of a variety of designs, plus a caretaker s residence, and community facilities. The Le Page family also donated the block of land in Bernard Street on which the family home had stood for about 100 years to the City of Moorabbin for the creation of Le Page Gardens.
