Here is the opportunity to buy a large 272ha (670acre approx..) bush block as a country retreat and/or forestry investment. This prominent, 685 metre Mount Ponsonby has spectacular views over Tunnack towards Table Mountain to the west and Maria Island to the East. There is also a 6ha block quite easy to access which was ploughed a few years ago which could allow you to run a few animals.
There is Eucalyptus Obliqua and white gum over the majority of the block along with an area of wet schlerophyll forest. The understorey with its variety of flowers in the drier forest and the higher elevation area is complemented by the small rainforest area in the South -East corner. This Flora, along with the varied wildlife makes this an ideal lifestyle or escape block. There is also approx. 10 kilometres of logging roads ideal for motorbikes or horses.
Alternatively, this forestry block has had amazing even age regrowth after being clear felled 20 years ago. The trees look a lot healthier than in many plantations. There is commercial quantities of standing timber if heavily harvested now but foresters suggest it would be best to wait another 2 to 3 years to allow more trees to get to more valuable sawlog size.
