The township has an IGA grocery store, an independant rural hardware store, a post office, a public school from K.(with the school bus going past the gate) - - and of course, a pub. The district is also serviced by two rural suppliers who deliver on a weekly basis or as required.
There is a recreation ground utilised by the active football, cricket and netball teams. These teams also make use of the newly installed gymnasium at the school.
Not far down the road, at Moorina, is the local golf club situated in a valley mostly surrounded by natural bush.

Soil Structure / Nutrition:
The property has fertile flat to sloping krasnozem soil.
A strict crop rotation is practised. Parsley, for oil, remains in situ for on average, three years, but other crops are rotated annually.
Cultivation has been restricted to tyne implements whenever possible. A marked improvement in yields resulted from not using a mouldboard plough.
Crop residues have been mulched and left on the surface to break down, resulting in excellent soil structure.
Lime or dolomite has been applied as necessary.
Artificial fertilizers have been applied to all crops in addition to organic supplements of Kelp, Fish, Worm Leachate and Chicken Litter, which have also assisted in keeping a healthy soil.

Water
Irrigation water is supplied from a dam in the hills south of the district. It is piped to about 50 farms under natural pressure through gravity. The pressure varies from farm to farm and also during the season. The pressure here is adequate to operate hard hose irrigators without booster pumps.
There is a water right of 110Ml; the present cost to acquire a megalitre is about $1170.
