Last Listing description (December 2021)

Established in the 1970's Pirate Point Oysters is one of the first commercial oyster operations to be developed in Tasmania, and has been continuously farmed by the same family since. The operation consists of a land base site of 1.2 ha with processing shed and equipment, plus basic accomodation together with the nearby marine leases covering a combined area of approx 53 hectares of water on the western side of Perkins island. Of the 53 Hectares, approx 15 ha is developed rack & rail, so there is huge scope for further development. They have successfully grown 80,000 doz oysters from seed through to mature size per year, and since 2013 juvenile to 40-50mm around 200,000 doz per annum. The farm currently holds approx 2 million oysters of varying size to be sold at valuation. Included in the sale is a Tractor and punt with outboard, fork lift, varying modules, frames, purses and socks, graders and conveyors. Basically everything to continue to run the operation.
