Last Listing description (January 2015)

This amazing building was constructed in 1920 and now sits on approx. 3 acres of land that adjoins the 40,191 acres that form the Mount Field National Park. The area is famous for its spectacular scenery, world renowned trout waters, adventure activities etc. and all this just over an hours drive from Hobart.
The main bar area has been recently updated to include a beautiful bar top of laminated local timbers; a reverse cycle air conditioner; a flat screen TV (for those important sporting events); and a resurfaced billiard table. The Hotel is licenced for take away sales and well as bar service.
Accessed through the main bar is the 45 seat dining room with its own fireplace, bar servery and dance floor. It is a popular spot for wedding receptions and other special events as well as catering to the many visitors to the area over the tourist season. The kitchen is just across the hall and boasts a new stainless steel stove, a well-vented frying area, plenty of storage cupboards, fridges, freezers, dishwasher and the original (huge) slow combustion stove.

At the other end of the building are the eight guest rooms accommodating up to 14 visitors. Each room has its own heating and many have feature fireplaces. Guests have a separate dining room, a sitting room, two bathrooms as well as private access to the lovely gardens. The owners also have a private suite with a double bedroom (with walk-in robe), their own bathroom and a spacious lounge room.
The building has been almost completely re-wired, had new hot water cylinders installed and the guest rooms have been re-painted. There are several store rooms as well as the cool room and there is a wood shed and carport at the back of the building. The Hotel has a large parking area and room to expand with a beer garden and outdoor entertainment area.
