Bluestone Vineyard is beautifully positioned for passing traffic heading to the Pipers River region. It's located only 25 minutes drive from Launceston and 10km to the nearest vineyard. The Owner/Grower sought professional advice when starting out on this exciting adventure of growing grapes and making wine. Their first vintage was harvested in 2013. The varieties grown include; Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Riesling.
The area planted in vines consists of 2 hectares (5 acres approx.) however, there is considerably more cleared ground suitable for expanding the vineyard if that is the plan for a new Owner.
A large irrigation dam was built to provide water during the growing season. Water is pumped from this supply to a smaller holding dam which supports a dripper irrigation system. Although Pipers River does not flow through the property, private access can be gained over an adjoining Crown Reserve for recreational purposes only.
