At the foothills of Table Mountain between Bothwell and Oatlands, "Merrivale" is an ideal development property with approx 4 km frontage to the permanent Exe Rivulet and topography and soils suitable for some cropping. Irrigation could be developed on the property with the use of the rivulet. It has grown potatoes in the past but has always been a grazing property running about 3,000 DSE of wool sheep, prime lambs and beef cattle.
"Merrivale" is situated in wonderfully reliable country and would complement a larger operation or make great stand alone property. There is about 550 hectares of native bush, some 35 hectares of which is leased to Gunns for plantation. This bush in combination with the rest of the property provides for some excellent deer hunting and shooting. The balance of the property is open cleared land, half of which is arable.
Improvements include 2 brick homes, 1 four bedroom house overlooking the valley, and a second brick house of three bedrooms, shearing shed and machinery shedding.
