MY VENDORS NOTES:
I have been asked to list what I love about my property that I am going to find so hard to leave
The birds are at the top of my list. There are so many of them and such a wide variety. The blue wrens that nest in the garden around the house and who live among the bushes and plants. When their brood is fledged they are back and forth under the kitchen verandah steps and through the white azalea bush
The Welcome swallows that nest in the garage and swoop back and forth on the warm summer evenings insect hunting. The sparrows and honey eaters that play in the flowering cherry trees and leave their messages on the verandah floor
The sudden swoop of pardalotes or small brightly feathered yellow winged birds that storm through the garden picking it clean of bugs
Hawks, eagles and the plovers that tease the dogs. The black birds that enjoy the bark garden along the front fence. Thrushes that perch on the clothes line in the early morning calling out to their mates in the bush. Ravens and the grey backed herons that bring their young up here and keep a weather eye on the dogs who chase them but never catch them
There are willy wag tails that, like all willy wag tails the world over, come and perch in the garden waiting for worms when your turning the soil
I will miss the bumble bees that spend their days climbing in and out of the roses, hydrangeas, daisies, and all the other plants in the garden and I will miss being able to sit on the east side of the house in the sun with a cup of coffee and my book
I love that in the very early mornings with the sun just shining into the kitchen and lighting up the room, it's like living in a honey jar with the gold of the timber and the wall
I will miss the bush and the view over to Bruny Island, not that it is a big view, but I have learned that big is not always best and glimpses have more value
It will be hard not having the land to take the dogs for walks on too
I love the way the stone house doesn't budge in a strong gale and you can hear the wind withering around but not getting in. The rain can pound down but once again the house is stands firm
It is nice seeing other people's house lights at night because there are not street lights here and sometimes I can feel rather alone until I go upstairs and stare out the window to see lights and the flickering of TVs in their lounge rooms, by the same token there are no people around during the day and it is so peaceful
I will miss the spring bulbs I have planted and will be doing so again when I move, and the use of bore water for the garden to keep it green and fresh. There is no limit to the water, only the cost of the electricity for the pump
I have always been glad the house has a slate floor and in wet weather it doesn't matter if the dogs come in with muddy paws
Now I am wondering why I am moving... well I have to, I am getting on and it is time to take myself closer to the city. Better to do it while I can still enjoy it, so whoever you are, if you have bought Brightside I wish you all the joy and peace I have had here
Additional feature/s - Built-In Wardrobes.
