The two-storey home offers a gracious lifestyle with multiple living areas on the ground floor, both intimate rooms and spacious open plan areas. The addition, designed by architect Leigh Woolley, connects the living areas and kitchen adding a roof lantern to add natural light. Timber framed glazed doors at each end of the room overlook the peaceful and very private garden, creating the perfect dining and living area. Next are the music room and sitting room, divided by concertina doors, open into another spacious area when required.
The formal lounge room is charming with a unique hand carved mantelpiece, and French doors opening to the spacious sunroom. There are two studies on the ground level that can be used as bedrooms. There are two original staircases, one at each end of the house, to the four good-size bedrooms upstairs. The back-of-house staircase is narrow and was originally built for use by the servants.

There are many original features including 6-panelled Cedar doors and window frames, a small cellar, and the extra wide verandah works beautifully for out-door entertaining. The three 15-paned dormer windows with intricate finials and gables are unique to Bowden Park and noted in history books of historic homes of the early Colony.
The original stables are used as storage. There is one covered carport and plenty of off-street parking spaces.
