'Gees Marsh' is a unique parcel of privately owned land which totals to 144 hectares (356 acres approximately) and is set behind the sand dunes and narrow coastal Foreshore Reserve of Millers Beach on Noland Bay, Bass Strait in North East Tasmania.
The property is an easy 45 minute drive from Launceston (approx. 58km) and is located between the mouth of the Pipers River ('seaside' communities of Weymouth and Bellingham) and the Little Pipers River. The entire area is covered in diverse native vegetation which includes grasslands, several types of heath and numerous areas of wetlands, home to the green and golden bell frogs. A coastal black peppermint and white gum forest provides protection for stands of bull oaks, banksia marginata and yellow flowering dogwoods. A Tasmanian Land Conservancy Covenant exists on the title. There is a private road which provides access to potential building sites (STCA). This conservation covenant will ensure that the area will be protected from coastal development. A neighbouring property is also managed for nature conservation, forming a coastal strip that joins the Bridport wildflower reserve.
The native vegetation is well documented. 175 species of native vegetation have been recorded, several of which are significantly important.
