Warooka is a small, peaceful town situated 2.5 hours from Adelaide on the foot of the ever popular holiday region of Yorke Peninsula. The town enjoys a milder climate than most inland towns due to the sea being only a few kilometers to the North. Warooka is the gate-way to the Bottom End of the Yorke Peninsula and is located within close proximity to al the water activities that make the region so popular. With the numerous coastal settlements in the area having very limited shopping services, Warooka maintains services usually only seen in larger towns, with IGA, garage w/- RAA, post office, hotel, pharmacy, hardware store and Butcher being only some of the shopping facilities within the town. Warooka also serves as the sporting hub for the area with Bowls, Golf, Tennis, Football & Netball being among the many different sports catered for in the town.
Agriculture is still the backbone of the areas economy but tourism is also a major industry in the region.
