Vendors Comments: Reason why I love my home
Starting at the top of my drive way its off the main road even though the address is Upper Sturt Rd Coming down the drive way no-one can actually tell that there is a house. The house cant be seen from the road. It is actually very calming coming down the drive way after a hard day at work and disappearing from the world.
I first see my garden to the left and by this time to the right is my Japanese garden with its Japanese Maple tree flowing over the top of the pergola that shades the back bedrooms. I know that I can sit in the garden listen to the water trickling. It is peaceful and relaxing. Especially with a glass of wine ( or tea). At the bottom of the drive is a shaded carport.

While sitting in the car I look out over the garden that incorporates an expanse of lawn, roses, camellias, ferns with a majestic golden ash which is the centre piece of the garden. A man made creek flows t through the garden and cascade over the rocks in winter.
Going up to the house and stand on the balcony and know that during the day the lorikeets, the galahs, parrots have fed well on the seed that I leave out for them. In the evening and early morning I look forward to feeding the kookaburras with leftover meat (a supply is also kept in the freezer). Sunday morning is the best time to watch the birds feeding whilst still in bed as the master bedroom has large expansive windows/doors leading on to balcony. I have learnt not to feed the possums that come for a nocturnal visit, even though it is great to hand feed them apples.
The living area of the house enables friends and family to be in one area while cooking a meal in the large kitchen. In winter with the potbelly roaring, heating a bottle of mead or some soup it is a very comfortable area.
The bedrooms are good size rooms that have seen many family/friends enjoy the tranquillity of the area. The bathroom is functional with a separate vanity, toilet and large shower/bath area.
For more of a mundane chore the laundry is very large but when going to hang out the washing you can stand and enjoy the vista of the valley and if early enough can catch a glimpse of an eagle or a yellow tailed black cockatoo.
There is no need to go to the local for a game of 8 ball as the workshop has a separate entertaining area just perfect with its own pool/billiard table. A heated area with that is serviced with its own TV, telephone access and power so you can hide away or enjoy social completion.
If you have had enough of the peace and quiet and want to make some noise there are 2 areas to become a handy person; workshop and a shed. Plenty of space to build, destroy, store and again if need be, hide away.
The whole area is close to a school, tennis courts that have summer and winter tennis, the national park is across the road. If your into bike riding, motor or peddle it is perfect. Crafers, Stirling, Blackwood and Belair are all close. The freeway exit is close. Down the hill is Marion, Mitcham and I go to Brighton for a walk if I dont use my machine that sits on my balcony.
So why am I moving when I love my house so much good question maybe I shouldnt move it sounds so good to be here. But it is now someone elses turn to enjoy the serenity.
PS you wont have any trouble with the neighbours except for the kangaroos and koalas that might come to visit.
