Containing 407.9 Hectares, Leonawood is ideally located adjacent to sealed Dukes Highway only about Five kilometres from Keith. It is currently run as a very successful beef cattle stud with irrigation, hay production and cropping. There are approximately 150 hectares of flood irrigation bays and approximately 250 hectares of improved grazing pastures.The land is flat to gently undulating warm gum country. Soils are mainly grey sandy loams with some lighter areas. There are tree lines for shelter. The pastures consist of lucerne, ryegrass and natural clovers. Pastures have been renovated every 5 to 7 years. Shelter belts have been planted along fence line and laneways.
Fertiliser: 100kg/ha of plain super has been spread annually since the current owner purchased the property.
Pasture:36Ha of new pasture consisting of Progrow ryegrass, Dalsa clover, Balansa and Prolific clover.

Lucerne: 24Ha of uncertified Sequal Lucerne was planted on the flood irrigation in 2013. Lucerne seed yields from the flood irrigation have been up to 850kg per ha of clean seed. Dryland Lucerne seed yields have been up to 300kg per ha of clean seed. Two thirds of the flood irrigation area will be ready to sow to certified Lucerne in 2015.
Water: There is a bore located at the homestead which is equipped with an electric submersible pump, which pumps to a concrete header tank. Water is then pumped via a pressure pump to all paddocks through 38mm poly pipe to concrete stock troughs. Mains water is also connected.
Irrigation: There are two pumping sheds. The main shed is equipped with a 100hp electric turbine pump, pumping about 1,000,000 litres per hour. 300mm casing, 6 metres deep bore. The second shed is equipped with a 6 cylinder diesel turbine pump, pumping about 680,000 litres per hour, 228mm casing, 6 metre deep bore. Water monitor is installed. The irrigation land is currently under cereal crop in preparation for sowing of new lucerne.
Crops: Heavy producing cropping country. Wheat, barley, canola, oats, rye and lupins are grown. Wheat yields are around 12/15 bags per acre with a top of 24 bags. Barley is around 15/20 bags per acre with a top of 24 bags. Canola yields are around 2t/ ha average and up to 3.5t/ha. Lupin yields are 2t/ha average and up to 3.5t/ha
Fencing:Leonawood is divided into 29 paddocks plus holding paddocks. Fencing is mainly wooden posts, with cyclone,barbs and plain wire. Electrified top wire. Railway iron strainer posts. Steel gates. There is a rubbled central laneway.

The main work area is undercover with adjacent undercover pens enclosed on three sides. Timber round yard, crush, race and loading ramp. Several smaller holding pens including recently erected bull show pens, weaning pens and smaller holding paddocks.
