Settlers Rest is situated in the Marmon Range making it a low frost risk property with a reliable 400mm rainfall.
Pastures consist of lucerne, veldt and primrose, ideal for producing prime lambs to catch the early local and interstate markets.
The location of Settlers Rest allows lambs to be marketed on hooks or in saleyards at Murray Bridge, Lobethal, Dublin,Bordertown, Naracoorte, Ouyen and Warrnambool.
The fencing is generally in good condition consisting of five line cyclone with pine posts and spacers. There is some electric fencing.
Fenced into 15 paddocks plus holding paddocks - all paddocks are watered. The rubbled central laneway assists with ease of management.
Water is supplied by a submersible pump near the shearing shed and then piped to an elevated cement tank for gravity fed distribution to troughs.
Improvements include a good quality three stand raised board 60 x 50 x 13 6 shearing shed with raised floor and steel sheep yards. Cattle are easily handled through the steel cattle yards. The shearing shed has excellent space and is also used for storage of machinery. There is a small hay shed, 30 x 20 10 machinery shed and old pioneer cottage.
Settlers Rest is a strong cropping and grazing property .It is suited to breeding or trading of prime lambs and vealers. The strong flat country is also excellent for hay production. There is approximately five acres of natural scrub providing habitat for local flora and fauna .
