Julia and Tony stated 'we loved the appeal of the 1860's timber and stone cottage and the size of the block which was a decent size for the dog and kids. Once we began to spend time here renovating, we discovered what a lovely part of Goolwa this is. It has a relaxed and rural feel yet is far from isolated. Both the Main Street and river are within a comfortable walking distance. We often walk to our favourite breakfast haunts, Hectors on the Wharf and Mother Duck on the main street. As far as ambience goes the bird life is fantastic and being able to hear the Paddle Steamer blow her horn on the river and the Steam Train as she heads back to the depot, you get that permanent holiday feel in this home. On New Year's Eve you can see most of the fireworks from the dining area window. In fact if we hadn't found another home to renovate we wouldn't be leaving at all.nThe home is positioned on 1240m2 of land with a large frontage of 72.71m allowing full use of this large block. The home presents as the original cottage from the front with a garden and fencing created to highlight the history of the house but freshen it with a modern vibe.

On entering the home, you can see the attention to detail and the desire to maintain the original feel of the home. The floor plan has been modified to accommodate a true entrance. Either side of this are bedrooms 3 and 4 or perhaps as study as the current owners have it. You then enter the original lounge with a working fireplace. The 9x6m shed offers secure undercover separate garaging as well. The front of the large shed is fenced an offers a hard stand area for caravans, boats and storage. There is a large 9.9Kw solar system on the sheds.
The side garden offers a safe fenced environment for the kids, pets etc. The lawn has pop up sprinklers. The kids cubby house stays as does the chook yard if you want it.
