WOW...if this property doesn't excite you NOTHING WILL!! What an incredible setting on this absolutely beautiful 4acres. The sounds of nature everywhere & what a magnificent place to dine outside overlooking this spectaculare view over neighboring water (like a lake) as well as your very own dam also. The property is well fenced with stables, shedding and more info following. As for the home...just perfect for those seeking tranquility and serenity (the budding artists will relish this one) and in particular those downsizing from large acreage and just can't stand traffic!! In fact you can hardly hear a thing except birds, horses, & more of those lovely 4 legged friends. I cannot imagine a nicer place through the winter months than sitting by this character open fire place....as for cooking in the kitchen? what a fabulous view to keep your sanity! And that is why this is the perfect place to just UNWIND! HISTORY OF DIGGERS REST...
Built circa 1890s.
The property is connected to the remnants of Jupiter Creek Gold Mine. Hence the name of the road - Diggers Road.
There is still heaps of gold in the (neighbouring and our) land, it's just not commercially viable to mine it.
The Name "Diggers Rest" came to be as it is a link to the past mining history and both the vendors are ex-army infantry...i.e. diggers!

The miner and his wife had 8 children. 6 boys and 2 girls. The separate building adjacent to the main house was built to accommodate, as sleeping quarters, the 6 boys. (You can only imagine 10 people living in the original cottage as being a little cramped!)

Yabbies in the dam? Oh yes!

Some of the positives of living here to tempt you are....
The sense of complete peace, serenity and privacy. A place to be away from the city hustle and bustle. To reconnect with nature & no close neighbors.

Echunga and Mylor are 2 minutes away. Hahndorf and Mt Barker are 10 minutes away. 22 minute drive from the Toll Gate.

The birds and birdsong - the kookaburras, the magpies, rosellas and lorikeets. Watching the hummingbirds float from flower to flower.
The sounds of the frog song coming from the dam on a lovely summers evening. (Good frog supply indicates healthy water).

The reflection of the moon rising over (the neighbors dam) along with the frog song, and starlight not seen in the city is sublime.

Neighboring land known as 'Forest Reserve', is Crown Land under the control of the Dept of Minerals (being a gold mine) is natural bush land, . In the winter and spring it becomes a natural wetland. All year round the glories that is Nature abound. The birds, the frogs, the yabbies and marsupials.

Back to Diggers Rest - the fresh, clear and clean air - the ambiance of serenity. The cooling evening breezes in the summer months that negate using the A/C. The wonderful winter atmosphere where the slow combustion heater than can heat the whole house & the 2nd lounge room with the open fire place to enjoy the character of why people come to live in the hills to enjoy the days of old times with the authentic flames of that ol' flame burning...bring back the ol' memories of past times...and just relish your new life without the hustle and bustle of CITY LIFE..traffic lights (petrol fumes stop and start) & transfer a healthier fresh lifestyle of the good country living especially during the winter months!! COME VIEW the VIEW....COME VIEW the NATURE...COME VIEW...the D I F F E R E N C E ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

So! The only way you will verify all of the above is to make that call before someone else does!!
