Canning Lodge was built in 1852 as a doctors surgery for Dr Chas Miles and then a Dr Jonothon Labett. The Rev.Benjamin Glennie also resided there for some time.
The original building was constructed of cavity brick and shingle roof with open western and eastern verandas on the high ground on the banks of Bracker Creek. It currently has both verandas enclosed with the Eastern veranda being occupied by the kitchen and dining rooms as well as the bathroom and toilet. The rear and side doors offer access to the back yard. Three bedrooms and a parlour with the original open fireplace are connected by a wide hall way with original floor boards as it was built in 1852. The front veranda has been used as a sleep out or sun room. The property occupies a 817sqm fenced allotment well out of flood area.
This building is in need of a total restoration but it is your chance to own a piece of early Warwick history. PROPERTY AUCTION on site Saturday 1st of July 10:30am followed by an unreserved CHATTEL AUCTION.
