Situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, the property is private and secluded abutting the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.
The land is described within the nature agreement as ???complex notophyll to mesophyll vine forest of high rainfall, cloudy uplands on basalt. Supports simple notophyll vine forest of moist to very wet metamorphic uplands and highlands???. The land is described within Issue 6, April 2006 of the Nature Refuge News as ???The Land supports the endangered vine forest ecosystem type, which has been identified as having very high conservation significance providing crucial breeding habitat for the endangered Southern Cassowary Casuarius Casuarius Johnstonii. A suite of rare and threatened plant species are associated with this dominant forest type???.
Views from the property include Mount Bartle Frere and the Johnstone River Gorge. The Coral Sea can be seen on a clear day.
The property is a significant habitat for abundant rainforest species including the Southern Cassowary, Queen Victoria???s Riflebird, Green Catbird, Eastern Whipbird, King Parrot, Red Backed Wren, Orange Footed Scrub Fowl, Ulysses Butterfly, Cairns Birdwing to name only a few inhabitants of this remarkable and unique property.
