Last Listing description (April 2020)

Welcome to your very own late 1800s character guesthouse only a 5 minute walk to the water's edge and Shorncliffe Pier. Elegant and sophisticated, this charming residence boasts hardwood floors, high ceilings, and a cosy large living room. A fully equipped kitchen spills onto a garden courtyard where you can relax and take in the Moreton Bay sea breezes.
Some of the highlights here are to stroll along 'Lovers Walk', visit one of the many cafes, picnic by the sea, or try our local fish & chips.

The space
This homely two-level guesthouse is named "Lanarth", which means purple magnolia. Downstairs has a fully equipped open plan kitchen/dining area, with all your needs to cook and eat in (simple breakfast foods are provided). This room opens to the garden courtyard which has a separate outdoor table setting. There is a large, light-filled internal lounge with a TV (or you may choose to pull out one of the board games for something old fashioned). The main bathroom is on this level too.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms. The main bedroom offers bright natural light, ocean views and sea breezes to send you off to sleep. This room has a queen bed, dressing table, chest of drawers, and plenty of hanging wardrobe space. The second bedroom has 2 king single beds and also plenty of hanging wardrobe space. A study with office desk and chair, sofa, and a second TV are here. From the study french doors open out to an upstairs balcony, ideal for relaxing or drying a little washing on the folding clothes airer. The second small bathroom with toilet, basin and shower is off this room, close to both bedrooms.

Access
The front part of this gorgeous old house is where Elizabeth the owner lives, and the back part is the guest accomodation. The apartment has its own private entry from a side courtyard walkway.

Access to the property is via the side street and through an arbour with a white lattice gate. From here walk to the ramp side of the courtyard and through a covered walkway where you will see a door on your left with "Lanarth B" on it. This is your home for your stay.

While the apartment itself is totally private, the walkway is shared with the owner at times (to get to her garage at the back of the property, or access the laundry), so you might see her when you are using the courtyard. If you are seeking complete seclusion and do not wish for any interaction, then perhaps this is not the best accomodation choice.

The wonderful semi outdoor laundry, and clothes line is the owners, but she is happy for you to use it with prior arrangement either through Leanne or Elizabeth. There are also 2 folding clothes airers if the clothes line is full.
