Last Listing description (May 2019)

This showcase property with views to Flinders Peak has been more than 30 years in the making. Jandera gives a family beautiful spaces to spend time together and to entertain friends. It gives grandparents or a teenager their own separate living space. And it gives a horse lover infrastructure and open pasture.

As soon as you arrive through Janderas entrance gates, you feel uplifted. The architect designed home stretches along the wide green lawn while the raked roofline reaches to the sky. The established gardens, fruit orchard and fully fenced paddocks reflect the time invested in creating a country life.

The round yard for horse training is shaded by a Poinciana tree. The open pasture, shade trees and dam are ideal for horses and most livestock. A track system in the bottom paddock keeps horses moving to feed and water to benefit their health. A large barn has horse stalls with swinging gates and a moveable fence to make reconfiguring easy. The barn has power, town water and its own rainwater tank and irrigation system.

Excellent design is a hallmark of Jandera. By following the ridge and opening to the southeast, the double brick home brings in views to almost every room. All southeast facing rooms open to the verandah. Family and guests alike can step from the homes living spaces to the verandah to the pool to the gardens and paddocks.

Designed and built in 1985 to create exceptional one level living, the home has been cleverly renovated and extended to include a large garage and a separate, self-contained guest suite. The suite is also ideal for grandparents, a teenager or a young adult and is currently a spacious home office. The total floor area of the home including verandahs is 510 metres squared.

Architectural features of the home are stunning. Tasmanian Oak raked ceilings imbue the home with a sense of space. Skylights fill the home with natural light. The open fireplace adds a sense of comfort. The view across the paddocks to Flinders Peak takes your breath away.

Original Italian floor tiles throughout the homes living spaces create a sense of flow as you move from the sunken lounge and dining room to the open plan kitchen, breakfast area and family room. The kitchen has European appliances and ample storage and bench space and is ideally located just steps from the verandah and pool area.

The covered verandah and pool lounge area with views to distant mountains is an idyllic setting for celebrations from intimate gatherings to large parties. This is the place to be all summer long. Soak up the beauty of your private parkland and the year round breezes. If youre a golfer, you can tee off from here and drive the ball towards the horizon.

The parents retreat has views to Flinders Peak and opens to the southeast verandah. A second set of glass doors opens to a private northeast courtyard. The walk in robe is well designed and the generous ensuite features a large spa bath, a double shower and two basins.

In the bedroom wing, the two queen sized bedrooms have built in robes. The larger bedroom, with its own sitting room, was originally two bedrooms. The original layout can be easily reinstated and would give the home a total of five bedrooms.

The bathroom is large with a bath and shower and a private view across the courtyard garden to the bright pink bougainvillea. The laundry, located near the kitchen, has direct access to outside.

The self-contained guest suite has its own entrance and its own verandah bringing in the view from the southeast. The one level suite includes a queen sized bedroom, bathroom, living area, kitchenette, plumbing for a laundry and easy clean floor tiles throughout. Alongside the verandah are trees growing limes, mandarins and mulberries. The mulberries are a favourite of the resident rainbow lorikeets.

The enormous garage has room for 4 vehicles (three large and one small) and a workbench. Outside the parking bay has room for up to six large vehicles.

The gardening shed is ideally located next to the vegetable beds and orchard. The vegetable beds are brimming with lettuce, corn, pumpkin and capsicum. The orchard is filled with trees growing oranges, lemons, grapefruits, guavas, cherries, pomegranates, lychees, custard apples, kumquats, mulberries, macadamias and coffee.

Janderas easy care garden has an irrigation system that waters most established trees, garden beds and the orchard. Six rainwater tanks hold a total of 64,200 litres.

Kookaburras, coucals, cockatoos and rainbow lorikeets perch in the trees of Jandera. You walk through the gardens and paddocks to the sound of birdsong and kookaburras laughter. A tawny frogmouth lives in a eucalypt tree by the barn. On summer nights you can hear its low-pitched whoo-whoo-whoo.

While Jandera is tranquil with views to the distant mountains, it is close to schools, buses, shops and amenities. Local children ride their bikes to Pullenvale State School and ride their horses to Moggill Pony Club.

A Southern Cross Hail and Ride bus (provided free by the Department of Transport and Main Roads) travels along Pinjarra Road to take children to Kenmore State Primary School and Kenmore State High School and returns them again in the afternoon. Council buses leave from nearby Moggill Road.

Bellbowrie Shopping Plaza is approximately 2.4 kilometres away. Kenmore Village is approximately 7 kilometres away. Drive approximately 17 kilometres and youll be in Queen Street.

Cavalli Equestrian is two properties along. The Macintyrte Centre is at the end of the road. Riding on the wide grassy verge that runs the length of Pinjarra Road is a lovely, quiet place to ride.

Jandera is a return to the good things in life. An established hilltop property in this prime location, with this level of infrastructure, does not become available often. Inspect as soon as
