Built in 2005, Dooruna has a licenced 12,500 Megalitre Dam which catches off Logan Creek at a maximum inflow rate of 1,468.8 Megalitres per day.
The licence has been recently re-newed from 2019 and runs until 2111. Water is harvested when the Logan Creek is in flow, diverting water off a cement causeway through to 4 x 1500mm inlet pipes.
Irrigation Country Water is gravity fed out of the dam into channels feeding 1 x 199 & 1 x 185 Hectare Lateral irrigation plots. The water is then pumped via 1000m channel fed linear Valley irrigator, powered by 2 x John Deere 6081 Free standing lateral moving pumps. Engines have approximately 8,000 hours. Irrigation is 20 x 50m spans, starting from 6inch pipe to 3-inch pipe.
Without interfering with any of the irrigation & dryland farming country, Dooruna will comfortably run 1200 breeders or 2000 adult equivalents.
