One of my favorite homes of New Farm that takes on a country cottage allure, it almost doesn't belong here... and that's what i love about it. Unique, cosy, warm and inviting. I instantly want to put the kettle on and make a cuppa!

Convict brick, Brisbane Tuff (rock) and Oregon timber make up most of the material used in the construction of this house. The original front of house sits on the Tuff with Hoop Pine flooring and brick structural walls, a perfect front entry or home office...meet your clients at home or at the Howard Smith Wharves...what a location!


The further extension of the home was finalised in the 90's which makes it post war, so if you did want to start again you could do so. Two levels with a rooftop viewing platform an option but why would you? It's perfect just the way it is. I particularly love the native wattle tree which was kept and is situated on top of the original spring that did hydrate the home owners of the area for many many decades...this courtyard catches the morning sun...a perfect spot to sun bake and get your dose of Vitamin D.

The slate floor is a pleasant surprise and ties in nicely with the general style and feel of the home and flows all the way to the gourmet kitchen. A cute pantry and windows allows the light and breeze to effortlessly flow throughout the home.

The dining room is long, perfect for an over-sized table for those family get together's. This room flows out to the rear courtyard. Plenty of break out zones both inside and out. What a house!

Up stairs is the master/loft with a free standing bath which beckons to be used...especially now on these fresh winter evenings or mornings...this bath could also be utalised for toddlers as this master is big enough to be a nursery as well.
