Located at the start of the northern section of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail there exists a unique opportunity to acquire a significant slice of history and harness the largely untapped Somerset Tourism market.
The stone buildings are the survivors of an early wayside inn built in the 1870's on the former coach road (now the D'Aguilar Highway).

This inn complex is a rare surviving Queensland example of a travelers' inn, and also as a group of early stone buildings that utilise material found on site.
Closest to the highway are the ruins of the main inn building. The stone walls of the single story wing remain, but the rest of this building has collapsed.
Behind this building is a largely intact kitchen/tea room and pantry. It is also constructed of stone rubble and has a lime washed interior. A wide fireplace and working bench for cooking at one end. At the other end of the building is a room with a lean to roof and a brick floor, which was used as the pantry.
Opposite the kitchen is the store and butcher's shop of similar construction. It is made up of three rooms: a large room with a timber floor and two small stone paved rooms which served as a butcher shop at the end. The wall at this end of the building is clad in corrugated iron and timber slabs.
HOME
A 3 bedroom and sleep-out weatherboard character home with wide open verandahs overlooking the stone buildings on two sides and a sleep-out / sun-room on the other provides a charming residence. The house is is lined with VJ boards and has tall ceilings, a wood stove and hardwood floors.
FACILITIES
Outbuildings include a large steel machinery shed and horse stables.
WATER
A large rainwater tank as well as a bore and dam provide water to the property.
AREA
The 14.4 acres of largely cleared land is on a spur, with the majority of the land on the high side and a dam on the lower portion. A feature is the irrigated vineyard growing in well drained alluvial soil on the north facing slope. The grapes have produced vintages in the past and add to the rustic country theme which could become the foundation of your new work from home lifestyle. The property ranges between 125m and 150m above sea level.
LOCATION
Conveniently located only 130km from Brisbane on the edge of Moore. The property is strategically sited close to the 'Rail Trail' with big highway frontage. A rare chance to acquire an iconic historic property in a strategic location.
