Last Listing description (April 2022)

First time offered in 47 years and this magnificent property will be sold!

Welcome to a property steeped in history and the love of one man and his family with a passion for native flora and fauna add the fabulous views of Lake Baroon from a number of locations and your options are nearly endless.

Set on what has become the premier street address of Montville, Len, a gentleman compounding pharmacist from Brisbane, purchased in 1974 what was a prime farming plot.

He then elected to stay over in the cow bales as his busy city schedule allowed him. In 1989 he moved a home from Brisbane to the land and only then could he fully savour the peace, tranquillity and privacy the land and its location provides.

From the outset 47 years ago, Len had a vision to transform the 61.40acres back into native vegetation whilst strategically leaving previously farmed land available for a few cows, his horses and a number of alternative build sites.

He dedicated every available moment to this passion and was still selecting native plantings well into his 90s. Len established a market garden style vegetable garden, chicken run and extensive orchard of avocados, jack fruit, mini bananas and more. Initially pumping water from a spring below the ridge he eventually had a large in ground tank installed along with a header tank for suitable pressure to the house and outhouse.

There are stories of folk walking their cows up from the lower slopes for milking and collection by the milko as well as the timber kitchen being built from the hardwoods of the wharves at Kangaroo Point. He even called the outhouse the Commonwealth Bank and the house has been lovingly called "Dad 90" be sure to ask why.

Also offering:
