57a Mons School Rd, Mons is a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom House with 3 parking spaces. The property has a land size of 6009m2. While the property is not currently for sale or for rent, it was last sold in March 2013.
One of the Sunshine Coast's historic homes is being sold for only the second time since its construction in 1936.
Currimundi House was designed in 1936 by renowned architects of the time, Cummings and Lucas, for the then Governor of Queensland, Sir Leslie Wilson. It was built on 2 acres overlooking Dickey Beach. At the time of construction it was the largest Sunshine Coast house to be constructed as a private residence.... 62 Squares (557sqm). It has been described as the ultimate Queenslander or as a Plantation House. Glorious veranda's surround the three wings of the house, enabling each room to have 2 sets of French doors opening out to a green private vista. The north-easterly aspect and 3.5m ceilings also contribute wonderful ventilation and air flow. The detail and uniqueness are never ending. When featured on a Sunshine Coast greeting card in 1981, the highlighted detail of house was the QLD Maple timbered panelled walls in the formal living and dining rooms. Another unique design feature, particularly in 1936, was the inclusion of built in cupboards in every room and hallway. Of course there is also a walk in pantry and linen cupboard.
In 1982 the Governor's grandchildren sold the house for removal in order to develop the site. It was purchased and moved to its 6000sqm current site on Buderim. The site also faced north-east maximising the design features. Because of its historic value it actually was the first house ever to be approved by Maroochy Shire council to be moved from another area into the Maroochy Shire.
The classic home perched on 6009m2 of land sits slightly above a magnificent vacant 7 acre parcel of land to the north. In this unique offering you can elect to purchase the home on 6000m2 or acquire two titles which would include the house and land ( 6009m2) plus the 7 acre land holding to the north.
