Brief Summation of Family History on Property -- Property purchased in 1949 Year by the Low Jip Family. The property prior to purchase by the Low Jip Family was a dairy farm with 20 acres cleared.
Low Jip Family grew bananas and pineapples on the property from 1949 until 1964 year when the family was granted a cane assignment with the Mossman Mill. The clearing of the property was completely cleared so that the whole property was producing sugar cane. The average yearly production was 2100 tonnes of sugar cane.
No farming has taken place since 2010 but the present owners, Melvyn Low Jip and Janet Low Jip, have enjoyed visiting the property from time to time as the family has owned it for 74 years.
