The historic Leyburn CWA hall is being sold after many decades of service to the local community which commenced in 1924. The hall was built in two stages on a large allotment and completed in 1926. During WW2 the USAAF and the RAF constructed a heavy bomber airfield north of Leyburn and after the war the large combustion stoves from the mess were donated to the CWA and are still located in the hall. The allotment is 1,072m2 in area and the hall is about 280m2 in size and has an entry foyer, hall, stage, kitchen and dining area and toilets. There are considerable fittings that are negotiable to interested purchasers including an electric stove, fridges, benches and tables and various kitchen items or the building can be sold without these fittings. The building is timber construction, ripple iron walls, internally lined and ceiled and has a near new roof and guttering. There are 2 reverse cycle split A/C's, wall mounted heaters and ceiling fans in the hall. The building is in sound condition and has the potential for many uses and the sale of the property provides the opportunity to purchase a large serviceable building and a slice of the local history in an area that is commanding considerable interest in the market place.
