Gordon Park Suburb Profile:
Gordon Park is one of the smallest suburbs in Brisbane and has a total area of just one square kilometre. Lutwyche, Grange, Stafford and Kedron flank the suburb. Although small, Gordon Park is perfectly positioned for quick and easy access to the Brisbane CBD and major retail centres located in surrounding suburbs. The daily commute to the city is about 15 minutes via Lutwyche Road and past the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
For those relying on public transport there are regular BCC bus routes into the City and surrounding suburbs. The closest rail station is Wooloowin. While there are no schools or shopping centres located in Gordon Park, due in large part to its small size, surrounding suburbs offer a variety of facilities. Stafford City Shopping Centre is approximately five minutes away, while Brookside Shopping Centre and Westfield Chermside are approximately 10 and 15 minutes away.
Padua Catholic and St Anthony's Primary Schools and Kedron and Wavell High Schools, and Mt Alvernia Colleges in neighbouring suburbs provide a wide variety of schools for residents to choose from. Kedron Brook borders much of the suburb and offers some park areas and bike and walkways for residents. While there are some older style walk-up units along Stafford Road, the predominant style in the area is highset Queenslanders, many of which have been renovated.
The potential for renovation and Gordon Park's location have attracted many buyers in recent years with a mix of residents including young and established families and young professionals.
