Situated 95 kms west of Mackay City, at an elevation of 900m above sea level in the Clark Range at Eungella, this 150 acre property boasts 45 acres of pristine rainforest which is traversed by the spring fed waters of Quandong Creek. Quandong Creek is platypus habitat and the property abounds with native birdlife more than 120 bird species have been identified on the property, including the elusive Eungella Honeyeater. Birders from around the world travel to Eungella in the hope of spotting the Eungella Honeyeater!
The property is divided into three sections the middle section has several acres of tree plantations. The back rainforested section is characterised by a spectacular views of a valley, mountains, rainforest and Quandong Creek. A short 15 minute walk through rainforest there can be found a deep spring fed mountain water hole and waterfalls. A perfect escape from the heat of the summer!
Situated on a slope, overlooking the valley, the weekend retreat building boasts spectacular scenic views. The building houses accommodation for up to 20 people, is fully furnished, including white goods, and has a pot belly wood stove for those cold winter evenings. A large timber deck extends for the length of the building. The deck has a full length electric roll out awning for protection from the sun and weather. This is the perfect location to relax with an early morning cuppa as the mist rises in the valley at dawn.
A timber bathroom complex of two toilets, five hand basins and three instant gas showers is linked to the main building by an elevated, covered timber walkway. Laundry facilities are also located in this building. The building features disability access to showers and toilets. An environmentally friendly Biocycle greywater system has been installed, along with a Clivus Multrum composting toilet system. A Council garbage collection service operates weekly at the road side.
Underground power and a second Biocycle greywater system has been installed at a second building site closer the creek. The property boasts an extensive tank water storage system that is linked underground for ease of water transfer and pumping. There is also a bore on site.
The property is located 11 kms from Eungella township where the Historic Eungella Chalet, the Eungella General Store and a Takeaway Shop can be found. Other facilities include tennis courts, a community hall, a childcare centre and a primary school. A school bus service runs past the property. Secondary students are transferred to a Mirani SHS bus service. An ambulance station is located in nearby Finch Hatton.
Eungella is renown for its National Park. The National Park boasts more than 20 kms of graded walking tracks and opportunities to view platypus in the wild. More than 20,000 people visit the park annually. On the edge of the National Park is Broken River Resort. The Great Walks track traverses the National Park as it winds its way down to Homevale Station at the southern end of the Park.

UPDATE - Unfortunately our property was impacted by the Dalrymple Fires in December 2018. The rainforest and creek were unaffected and the main building was saved. Unfortunately the shed was lost. Following extensive rain, the property is recovering. The transformation and capacity of the environment to regenerate is amazing!!
