Back in 1974 a young couple stumbled across a beautiful lush and green 10 acre block of land backing onto a river in the mostly undeveloped area of Cedar Creek. They decided it would be the perfect place to build their first home to raise a family in. The style of home they decided on was a high set with polished timber floors, 2 living areas (how forward thinking were these guys) and the usual 3 bedrooms 1 bath room upstairs. A veranda the length of the home completed the picture and provided somewhere to sit and cast their eye over the place they now called home. Eventually underneath the home was built in and provided Granny with her own space including her own kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living area so she could be close to her daughter in her later years.
The property provided the family with ample water due to pumping rights from the river and supplied water to the home and for crops and the animals. They put in an in ground swimming pool and covered entertainment area where they would create many happy family memories. Later on Dad got to build his 18x7m shed for him to muck around in. The kids spent many hours fishing and swimming in the river or riding their motor bikes around the property.
