Windale is a suburb located on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie, situated about half way between Charlestown to the north and Belmont to the south. There are two primary schools, one catholic and one public. A local shopping precinct includes a service station, general store, pharmacy and newsagent. Other attractions include the Windale/Gateshead Bowling Club, the Police Citizens Youth Club, a Library, post office facilities, Tennis courts, Soccer Clubs & Fields, Rugby League Clubs & Fields and a Tenpin bowling centre.
