Wareemba sits on the eastern shore of Hen and Chicken Bay, on the Parramatta River, surrounded by the suburbs of Five Dock and Russell Lea and Abbotsford.


History-

The word wareemba is said to come from the old Aboriginal word meaning where salt water meets fresh. The sea wall at Hen and Chicken Bay was constructed here in the 1930s to make room for residential development.
