"Glen Idol" and "Creek Heights"
3,870ac | 1,566ha
Properties are situated side by side and to be sold as one.
Located east of the Wallabadah township in one of the sweetest valleys the North West Slopes and Plains. "Glen Idol" and " Creek Heights" provides you with a remarkable parcel of land that delivers softness, high rainfall, high fertility, temperate climate, ease of management and high carrying capacity.
These 2 highly productive properties are situated 25kms from Quirindi enabling easy access to both Killara and Caroona feedlots, whilst being within close proximity to the townships of Tamworth -65km, Gunnedah -100km and Scone -90km.
These major centres provide weekly fat sales and store sales, with Tamworth and Scone boasting domestic and export abattoirs.
A combined total of 3,870 acres. These highly productive properties rise from creek flats that are predominantly soft loam soils to gently
undulating red basalt ridges. From these ridges "Creek Heights" rises up to productive basalt steeper slopes.Over both properties there is a mixture of white box, yellow box, stringy bark, apple and red gums, providing natural protection for livestock throughout all seasons.
"Glen Idol" and "Creek Heights" are well suited to breeding and fattening livestock. Over both properties there is approximately 800 acres of arable country. At present the vendors have 650 acres farmed on "Glen Idol" consisting of a mixture of Italian Rye, Oats, Lucerne, Winter Wheat and Canola. Hay will be cut for future use due to the season we are experiencing.
"Glen Idol" and "Creek Heights" combined have an estimated carrying capacity of approximately 800 cows and calves. This high carrying capacity is achieved by the continued production of summer and winter fattening crops.
At present, MarkabbyPty Ltd is running a nucleus of breeders, fatten their progeny, purchase 2 to 3 hundred trading cattle and run 1,000 ewes and lambs. These properties complement each other with the opportunity to breed and fatten.
Water is a feature on "Creek Heights" and "Glen Idol" with 5 km of double creek frontage to Quirindi Creek and 1.5 km double frontage to Back Creek. There are 16 dams on "Glen Idol" and 14 dams on "Creek Heights", these dams are in support of a watering system second to none.
"Creek Heights" has an automatic solar bore with a mono helical rotor pump 80 feet deep yielding approximately 1000 gal per hour. This bore pumps to a strategically placed 20,000 gallon tank and reticulates back to troughs. A second bore near the homestead has a solar submersible, 60 feet deep and yielding 600 gal per hour, also pumping to a header tank and reticulating back to troughs. An equipped well below the sheep yards can be used as a back up if needed.
"Glen Idol" is supplied by a bore with solar mono helical rotor pump 195 feet deep and yielding 3000 gal per hour. This bore is pumped to a 20,000 gallon holding tank, from there water can be pumped to a second new holding tank and troughs on the northern boundary or reticulated to several other 5000 gal tanks on "Glen Idol" supplying all its water needs. A back up well on Back Creek is equipped with a diesel motor and pump, this is only used in emergency cases. Most paddocks are also supported by large dams.
All underground piping is high pressure blue line pipe and this is found throughout both properties.
