Tarraganda House, the main residence, is built from handmade bricks made locally. The walls are 18" thick, the ceilings are 14' high, the veranda is deep all the way around, the roof is high-pitched with tall chimneys, giving it an appearance of stature. Tarraganda House is described as an early Colonial Georgian home, built during the King George period. The design was very symmetrical i.e., a central door with equal windows on either side and everything centred. The English added the wide verandas in the hot colonies to provide shade and to protect the home from the extreme weather. Over the years there has been additions and changes to accommodate the changes in lifestyle whilst still maintaining the overall Colonial design. The home now has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lounge room, dining room, large eat-in kitchen all with views of the valley, river and gardens.

Tarraganda Cottage, built around 1860 to accommodate the kitchen with a breezeway between the main house and the cottage. Tarraganda cottage includes original features such as the baker's oven and pot arm over the open fire for cooking. The ceilings are high with original boards throughout. Verandas around the cottage provide sun and shade all year around. It has 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, originally built and more recently renovated with the same commitment to excellence as the main house.

The 'Gardener's Cottage' provides yet another taste of days gone by. Originally constructed to house the Chinese gardener, with 1 bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living area, it is not only incredibly comfortable but its character and charm will have you falling in love. It also has a separate entrance and separate title.

Once outside, and beyond the stunning verandas, the gardens and lawns are simply spectacular. The photos, as good as they are, cannot do it justice, you need to see and feel it to truly appreciate it.
