Its like a story book at the end of the yellow brick road !
This much loved property is a world away from today's pressures and pinch points, the land varies from wide, open grazing pastures through to hilly native country with deer, abundant birdlife, native animals... and people living happily alongside each other.
This rural property consists of a 4 bedroom home sitting on 87 hectares (215 acres), the longest bitumen driveway in the region, a great shearing shed & stock yards, there's also a large garage and miscellaneous other sheds.
The house is charming and unique, downstairs consists of the main Living Area, Kitchen, a large Bathroom and two Bedrooms - the living areas are enhanced by the deep verandah allowing not only a great place to entertain but it also frames the amazing views to Lake Bathurst. To the North are large open plains and big skies right across to Lake Bathurst and beyond, to the East and South you look out to the pleasing garden and lawns surrounding the house. A short walk from the house reveals extensive 180 degree views from the Braidwood region through to Goulburn.
Upstairs consists of another full bathroom and two enormous bedrooms - again the size of the rooms and the views are a feature, from these rooms you can take in the view right through to Goulburn in the North. There is also a substantial storage area contained within the roofspace.

Dams and Creek
Turning to the land, the large nearby dam brings water views front and centre, there are springs scattered throughout the property and at the moment a substantial creek is flowing, in dry times this creek is more a series of billabongs but either way is a consistent source of water.
The front paddocks are perfect horse flats but could also be turned to cropping, there is also a large dam in this part of the farm. As you climb the bitumen driveway you climb through partly forested country, past the shearing shed and up to the house and its courtyard.
The rear half of the farm was once nearly all cleared and now features a mix of native grass clearings, recent regrowth and on the higher hills, native forest... there are a few creek crossings and some fantastic lookout points. Whilst reviewing the paddocks we came across Deer, Wallabies and lots of birds - it is a very beautiful and peaceful place to visit.
Some might just move in and enjoy the country life and some might do some fencing, some clearing or even renovate and decorate although any of these activities would only create more value and build upon what is already a rare offering in todays market. 1657 Braidwood Road has a fantastic location, it sits between Braidwood, Bungendore and Goulburn and is less than an hour to Queanbeyan or Dickson.
