Last Listing description (July 2018)

This lovely early federation home has been recently, lovingly restored. It sits in the heart of Rylstone town and is a stone's throw to all that Rylstone has to offer.

The Cottage provides an historic country getaway whilst still being a flat short walk to Rylstone's legendary cafes, yum cha, pubs, clubs, parks and gift shops. It is also an easy walk to the Rylstone Show ground and adjacent Cudgegong River.

The Cottage is homely, inviting and perfect for a romantic getaway or family stay.

THE SPACE

The Cottage has a choice of two large master bedrooms each with a queen size hotel quality bed and decorated in a luxe country federation style. There are two other smaller bedrooms with new single beds and quality bedding.

Both the kitchen and the bathroom are newly renovated, the kitchen in a quirky country style. All appliances are brand new and there is an original Hunter kitchen stove that can be lit in winter when it's cold. Dishes will need to be washed by hand as we chose to have an old fashioned kitchen with no dishwasher. In saying that the kitchen is beautifully equipped and has an electric stove, fridge, cook top and microwave. The pantry is well stocked and please help yourselves to whatever is there, we just ask that you replace what you use if possible.

The Cottage has a wonderful rambling garden and lawn and is surprisingly private due to several large hedges that divide the yard into different sections.

The Cottage can be accessed either by the front door up a short set of stairs, or through a gate from the side lane with flat access to the back door.

GUEST ACCESS

Guests at the cottage have the entire house and the backyard as far as the shed.

Unfortunately the original shed/garage on the property is rather low in height and probably not suitable for most modern cars. For that reason we have decided to make it unavailable for guests, but street parking is available and we generally suggest you unload your luggage using the side lane and the back gate and back door.
The crooked wood shed in the backyard is out of bounds.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

The Cottage is a very special and beautiful place to stay. It is steeped in history and was one of the original cottages built in Rylstone. We hope that you love it as much as we do and all we ask that you look after this piece of history as if it were your own. For that reason the Cottage is not available for large groups or parties and we do allow well behaved dog visitors on application.

Our pricing is based on bookings for up to 4 guests and each additional guest will incur a one off charge of $50 per person.
